Her journey took her from the demanding world of Wall Street to the tranquil avenues of wellness. Ishani Vellodi Reddy rejigged her lifestyle from that of a banker buried in stress, with health on low priority, to that of a wellness icon who now focusses on well-balanced, sustainable living and smart nutrition.

She was born into the Vellodi family that’s behind Sutherland Global Services and married into the Reddy family of Apollo Hospitals. But Ishani carved out an identity of her own with Ishani Vellodi Wellness, with which she helps people discover that it’s easier to take care of themselves—both physically and mentally— than they could imagine. Chic and stylish even in the advanced stages of pregnancy, Ishani has a clear vision for her life, as she focusses on her core values, even as she enjoys the high life.

How did the shift from Wall Street to wellness transpire? I had my eyes trained on a career in banking since the age of 14. So I threw myself head first into it as soon as I started working. Hundred-hour work weeks also meant greasy takeout food every night, late-night socialising and zero physical activity. Something had to change, but I wasn’t sure where to begin. One day, I walked into a workout studio and signed up for some classes. Initially, I barely made it out alive, but that’s where it all started. I had more energy, felt sharper, sleep better, lost those extra pounds, and rediscovered my enthusiasm for life. Finding that sense of physical and mental empowerment made me want to help others realise that it’s all within reach, no matter how demanding your life is. You could say that Wall Street paved my way to wellness!
