Cheryl 'Too Humiliated' To Sing Again

Her big musical comeback wasn’t quite as big as she had hoped, and now we’re told that – following her controversial X Factor performance last week – Cheryl is ready to quit showbiz. Her new single, Love Made Me Do It, only reached number 19 in its first week, dropping out of the Top 40 by the following week. And, after appearing on her old stomping ground, the 35 year old received a barrage of criticism on social media – with everything from her live vocals, to her dance routine and outfit in the haters’ firing line.

Soon after her X Factor performance, the singer went on Twitter to address the negative comments she had been receiving. As well as thanking her fans for“not being influenced by the negativity”, she wrote, “Having spent 16 years in the public eye, I have always been accepting of people’s opinions. Me personally, my music and performances are never going to be for everyone. And that’s OK.”
