A REMARKABLE robotic hand strong enough to crush an aluminum can — but gentle enough to hold an egg without cracking its shell — has been created by researchers, offering hope for its future use as a human prosthetic.

Engineers at South Korea’s Ajou University developed the revolutionary hand, dubbed ILDA, which stands for integrated linkage-driven dexterous anthropomorphic device.
