Situated on the banks of the rivers Fiddich and Dullan and at the foot of Conval Hills in the heart of Speyside, the small market town Duff town, is the ‘malt whisky capital of the world!’ Rahul Khanna had never been to Scotland and when he was invited by the Glenfiddich distillery to take a tour of the whisky trail, he jumped at the opportunity. “I didn’t know much about the culture and the tradition of whisky making. So visiting Scotland seemed the perfect place to gain knowledge about it. The fact that Duff town is the whisky capital of the world made it exciting,” he shares.

“It’s beautiful to watch how meticulous the art of creating whisky is. I found out how the world’s most awarded whiskies are created by craftsmen with generations of expertise. I met the maverick whisky makers of Duff town, who helped me understand the intricacies of preparing whisky.”

He believes the best thing about a land is its people. And he was blown away by the charming Scots. He shares an interesting fact he heard from one of the locals there. Says he, "Rarely does anyone in Duff town die of a heart attack. People there are stress free and in tune with nature. Everyone was so happy to have us. They were hospitable and helpful.”
