Remembering Sidharth Shukla

Sidharth Shukla, the hearthrob who ruled a million hearts, passed away on September 2 this year. The actor, who was just 40, succumbed to a severe heart attack at his residence. The news came as a big shock to his fans, family members, friends and colleagues.

Born in Mumbai on December 12, 1980, Sidharth was the son of late Ashok Shukla who was a civil engineer and Rita Shukla, a homemaker. Sidharth, who also had two elder sisters, lost his father due to a lung disease during his modeling days. He completed his schooling from St. Xavier’s High School in Mumbai and went on to get a Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design from Rachana Sansad School of Interior Design. After completing his degree, he worked in an interior designing firm for a few years and later decided to pursue modelling. In 2004, he became the runner-up in the Gladrags Manhunt and Mega model contest. Soon after he appeared in his first ever music video Resham Ka Rumal, which featured vocals by Ila Arun.

Sidharth represented India at the World’s Best Model contest which was held in Turkey. He became the first Asian to bag the title leaving behind contestants from Latin America, Europe and more. Soon, he was flooded with advertisement offers and thanks to them, he started getting noticed in showbiz.
