Designing a rare collection – Amolya, by setting emeralds in platinum, designer Amish kothari, director, Rosentiques, has carved a niche for his brand among Jewellery connoisseurs. Talking about this one-of-its-kind collection, he touches upon every aspect of its making from the inspiration behind its conception to the detailing of its design. In the same breath, he also sheds light on PGI’s role in developing and promoting this uniquely designed collection and goes on to point out why it has found takers among women. Hear it from the man himself.
Jewellery has always been an expression of one’s individuality and this is one of the key criteria for creating a design. There is a demand for jewellery which is exclusive and precious. Indians have always been enamoured by platinum and emeralds. From maharajas to kings, platinum is a metal chosen by royalty to set their precious stones. We saw this demand for high-end platinum jewellery as an opportunity to become the first brand to introduce a niche platinum collection in the market and hence, launched this exceptional collection called Amolya. With that, this is the first time in India, there is a collection with platinum and coloured gem stones for the B2B market.
