Global crude steel output up 12.65% in March

World crude steel production of 64 countries reporting to the World Steel Association was up 12.65 percent at 169.20 million tons (mt) in March against 150.20 mt in February.

Global crude steel output up 12.65% in March

On year, production in March went up 15.06 percent from 147.05 mt in the same month previous year.

In March, Asia and Oceania produced 123.8 mt of crude steel which is 16.7 percent up from same month in 2020. European Union (EU) produced 13.6 mt of crude steel in March, up by 13.1 percent on year.

North America’s crude steel production in March was 9.7mt, up marginally by 0.4 percent over the corresponding month of 2020.
