The idea came to me when I was in my college (IEM final year) and was working as a freelancer. I met many other students and even working professional who were looking for some alternate or part time income. I even came across housewives who were willing to work as a freelancer during day time. But most of them were unable to a get good opportunity in virtual (online to online) freelancing platform. That&#39;s when it clicked me we can start something that will help the user to find relevant people in the local area and at the same time for freelancers to get work opportunity. There were other reasons which acted like a catalyst to my initial observation like I was cheated by a client for Rs.80,000 (from Australia ) and met many people who hire or work as a freelancer but not happy with the quality of the work because of time zone gap, communication barrier and lack of physical interaction. Also, many freelancing jobs cannot be done online like photography and home tuition. This overall led us to decide a big opportunity is there, and we started Tootle.INTRODUCTION Tootle is an online platform where users can find local freelance service providers in their area. It caters as a platform where local freelancers can create their profile choosing from a wide variety of categories and subcategories of services for the employers to see, select, and hire.FUNCTIONING Tootle functions in the local area of the users. i.e., the users will see people located near them based on relevance, which can be easily reached via in-app chat and On-site presence might be possible. The users can&nbsp;post their jobs filling in necessary details and browses the list of relevant local freelance service providers in their area and makes an offer to the ones they like.The service provider creates their profile putting forward their work experience, skills, KYC document, etc. and browses jobs only in their area to apply. The local freelancer cannot in any way initiate a conversation with the employer. They can only apply.The employers on the other hand, can initiate conversations with the service providers near them after viewing their profiles. This is done to provide a better experience to the users.Tootle does not get involved in any monetary or material transaction that takes place between the users. We only connect users with one another depending on their needs and locality. Users can both find work and hire local freelancers from the same app.BUSINESS MODEL Tootle banks on the connection being made.We charge a specific amount from only the local freelancers, in order to connect them to the employers looking to hire in their area.We do not charge them for leads generated or applications made but only when the employer has shown interest in hiring and has initiated a conversation and they chooses to view the message and take part.Currently we are operating only in Kolkata and more than 4000 users have registered with us. And we are planning to launch our platform in various cities like Mumbai, Delhi NCR, Bangalore and Hyderabad soon.
