Pathaan: A Hiccup Or A Ray Of Hope?

It was a brave step for Siddharth Anand to direct such a star cast with a whopping budget of over Rs. 200 Crores, especially amidst the boycott culture prevailing in the Bollywood industry.

I'm sure that the entire cast & crew would have been in great pressure and anxiety for taking such a step to release a film in such a market. But, their efforts really did pay off. The film was a huge success and has earned a collection of more than Rs. 600 crores worldwide.

Pathan has set a record in the history of Hindi film. It stood as the Biggest Indian hit film of the year yet. Pathan was able to break even with the budget within just two days of the release and this is a new record. This success is not a celebration just for the crew of the film, but of the entire Bollywood industry because, it just has stopped the downward trend of the industry and registered an upward movement. 'Pathaan' recorded the highest-ever box office collections for a Hindi film for its opening and second day in India, and raked in 2.5 billion rupees ($30 Million) in its first five day, trade analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted on Sunday.
