India prides itself as world’s second largest producer of food. The Indian food industry, currently valued at $39.71 billion is expected to grow at CAGR of 11 percent to $65.4 billion in 2018. Food and grocery account for around 31 percent of India’s consumption basket. Food processing sector plays a vital role in reducing wastage, enhancing shelf life of food products, ensuring value addition, diversification and commercialisation of agriculture, generation of employment, enhancing income of farmers, etc. The Government of India has been instrumental in the growth and development of the food processing industry.
Mega Food Park is creating requite infrastructure wherein the entrepreneur are invited to use the infrastructure created at Central Processing Center in Mega Food Park on job work basis and also avail the opportunity to establish their food processing industry in the food park. Since all of food industry is coming together, they share their knowledge, resources, and common infrastructure.
