Crop genetics company Puris launched a high-protein pea variety that’s viable in six climate zones (even in Arizona) and can be grown almost year-round. The largest pea protein producer in North America, Puris grows only certified organic crops.

02 Perfect Day

Perfect Day uses fungi fermentation to create dairy proteins (casein and whey) that are identical to those in milk. Last year, Perfect Day brought its first commercial product to market, an animal-free dessert developed with Smitten Ice Cream.

Thrive Market, now the largest U.S. grocer to earn B Corp qualification, has grown to nearly 1 million members. Its sought-after in-house organic brands represent 28% of all sales; even during the pandemic, it debuted new food categories.
