SCCL's coal production down 26.4% till January

Despite a renewed surge in coal production since November 2020, Singareni Collieries Company Ltd (SCCL) continues to witness a lowly performance so far this year.

Coal production by the Telanganabased miner during April-January of FY21 stood at 38.61 million tons (mt), about 26.42 percent lower than 52.48 mt achieved during the same period of FY20, according to (provisional) data released by the company.

In absolute terms, coal production by SCCL is down by around 12 mt till January. The miner has achieved 70 percent of the production target of 55.15 mt set for AprilJanuary 2021.
