Iceland - The Land Of Fire And Ice

The land of fire and ice - Iceland - gets its name from the existence of a varied tourism landscape that ranges from ice glaciers to volcanos. It has been increasing in popularity amid the sophisticated Indian travellers’ segment. These travellers have visited the more mainstream parts of Europe and are now keen to explore alternative destinations like this one. Globally too, the country has seen an upward trajectory in its popularity. In 2022, it is expected that 1.3 million tourists will visit the country, and in 2023 the number could be 1.5 million.

What makes it better is that Iceland is now open to Indian travellers. However, travellers need to be fully-vaccinated with the approved vaccinations by the European Union, which includes Covishield by AstraZeneca.

SUMMER IN ICELAND

Iceland in summer has many advantages. You can make use of the longer and warmer days as well as a plethora of activities. Read on to nd out what to do in summer in Iceland.

TAKE A TOUR OF THE HIGHLANDS

The region of the highlands is inaccessible during the winter - so this is definitely something that should be on your list of things to do in Iceland in the summer. The area is teeming with views of vast glaciers, mountains, towering volcanoes and much more. A road trip through this region requires 4x4 vehicles and the roads usually open midJune, depending on the weather and snow. They are closed by late September. If you are not so adventurous, you could also book a private guided tour which will take you on a tour of the main parts of the highlands, so you can sit back and enjoy the magic of the wilderness in peace.
