The Business Beyond Business : Towards A Purpose Driven Organisation.
As would be recognized there has been a definite movement towards creating a well-defined purpose driven eco system in several corporate entities. In many ways this is quite the direct opposite of the general lament on the decline of ethical standards in organisations. My familiarity with the literature and practice of creating and sustaining a purpose driven organisation throws up some names.
Readers would be aware of Aaron Hurst and his thoughts on 'purpose economy'. Dan Pontefract talked of 'purpose effect'. If I might say so, a name which comes to me in the same series is of Richard Rekhy, who's attempts to create a purpose driven-firm have not only aroused interest but evoked considerable respect amongst the knowledgeable and the observant.
Here are some excerpts from my recent conversation with Richard Rekhy, CEO, KPMG, India his responses to some of my queries would help in shedding some light on an otherwise young terrain.

Coming from a service class family, I had no idea of business. I had no one to turn to for the basics.
