We had to shut our office – Covid-19. Our photocopier has survived the great storm of ’87, Y2K and Brexit, but even its steam powered presses couldn’t beat the logistical challenge of printing and distributing a magazine in a pandemic. And as for testing, well with water activities banned and equipment to be reviewed floating in that twilight zone of closed factories and shut warehouses, we had to lock the test team in a cupboard with biscuits and a few back issues until they started making zombie noises and mumbling, “foil, foil, foil…”. Some of us worked at home for the first time, even Harty got in on the act. While the rest of the celebrity world tried teaching us how to make banana bread from their suspiciously spotless kitchens, Peter took to instructing us how to tack from his back garden. Whilst there, and in the absence of international air travel, he kept himself busy by starting work on digging a tunnel to Mauritius. At the time of writing he hopes to have cleared the greater Sussex area by November.
