All four of the County 1884 tractors in Ireland were on show at the County Down Traction Engine Club’s (CDTEC) annual working day, held at the Rosemount Estate in Greyabbey.

Held on Saturday 12 August, the weather started off wet but dried up in the afternoon, which was welcome news for the hundreds of spectators in attendance. The club also hosted a road run on the previous night to the main working day, which attracted numerous tractors.

The main theme of this year’s working day continued the centenary celebrations of Ford and Fordson tractors and their derivatives, with an impressive display of County tractors as the central focus.

There are four County 1884 models left in the whole of Ireland and all of them are owned by tractor enthusiasts in Northern Ireland. Organised by the Irish County Tractor Club, which was officially launched in April, the tractor display at the CDTEC event included these four iconic tractors as well as a number of the smaller County models manufactured by the company.

Club members were out in force manning the stand and later on taking some of the tractors up to the fields to participate in the working demonstration.
