THE FIRST ANNUAL PRO TOURING TRUCK SHOOTOUT PRESENTED BY LMC TRUCK IS IN THE BOOKS AND WIDELY CONSIDERED A TERRIFIC SUCCESS. With more than 70 competitors battling it out for the fastest times in the biggest checks, the weekend felt like it went faster than expected thanks to the non-stop racing action from sun-up to sundown. The battlefield for this build-off was in Bowling Green, Kentucky, at the world famous NCM Motorsports Park. Remember that Corvette Museum that sank into a sinkhole? Yeah, that’s this place, and now it’s fully rebuilt and absolutely stunning inside and out!
Unlike most rookie events we attend, all of the pre-scheduled activities were completed without complication, and the time frames for each event were spot on with what we were told. Luckily for everyone who committed to attending this first-time event, the man in charge was Arnie Gonzalez. The ability to successfully promote, put on and even participate in a major motorsport event is a trait that only few are naturally born with. Arnie was not only born with this wild work ethic, but he bleeds it each and every day throughout all aspects of his life. Ask anyone who’s hung out with him for more than 24 hours and they will tell you—he’s hard to keep up with, but he’s fascinating to watch!

THE COMPLETE BOOK OF CORVETTE: EVERY MODEL SINCE 1953
The Corvette is known the world over as “America’s Sports Car.” With eight generations spanning seven decades, the Vette has a lot of history behind it and there is much to learn— and much to celebrate—about this iconic machine. As the title of the book by Mike Mueller makes plain, The Complete Book of Corvette: Every Model Since 1953 is here to help readers do both. Newly revised and updated to include the 2020 C8 Corvette, this volume provides excellent context on how the Vette has evolved into the world-class supercar that it is today.

Racing Success Story
On the midst of what can technically be called a pretty bad year, it’s encouraging to see professional motorsports persevering, which in this year should be seen as a raging success. Initially many NASCAR and Indy Car events were canceled or rescheduled, but as the year has progressed, it seems that those organizations have gotten pretty clever in how to complete their schedule by combining events at the same track on the same weekend or running double-header races.
