Vespa Twin: Doing The Boxer Beat
I’ll admit to being sceptical about the Vespa Twin. There’d been enough chatter amongst my German friends to confirm it existed, but I thought it was probably the result of ‘shed engineering’, a rough marriage that somehow its builder had coaxed into life. How wrong I was. Before going into the twin’s specification it’s probably best to introduce its creator as, without understanding him, it’s difficult to believe any of this is true.

Enter the Devil

Based in Fürstenfeldbruck, in the heart of Bavaria, Christian Mühlbauer is an engineer at the top of his profession. The founder and CEO of IB-Ideenbau, Christian is wary of listing the clients he’s worked with, but the company specialises in producing technical exhibits and prototypes for high-end projects.

To operate at that level the company needs access to the very best software and CNC machinery, so this is no back street operation. Fortunately for us, Christian has a passion for pushing scooters to the very limit and he’s created a separate brand for his scooter projects, ‘Motorino Diavolo’.
