PRICE ₹39.30 lakh (ex-showroom India)
The company priced it at Rs 39.30 lakh for the BMW 220d Sport Line and Rs 41.40 lakh for the 220d M Sport. All prices are ex-showroom. Thus, it looks, the closest competitor to the BMW 2 series Gran Coupe will be its own BMW 3 series model.
The company has introduced the car with a diesel mill and is being offered in two trim levels, the BMW 220d Sport Line and the BMW 220d M Sport. The petrol variant will be launched later. We got to drive the M Sport diesel version.
The car is drop-dead gorgeous and the colour we got was a very exciting one which stood out in our surroundings. The M Sport logo signifies that it has some ‘Motorsport’ elements to it. You get to find the M letter and its distinct coloured stripe at strategic places both inside and outside.
EXTERIORS
The BMW 2 Series Gran Coupé measures 4,526 mm in length, 1,800mm in width and 1,420 mm in height. It has a 2,670-millimetre wheelbase. The boot comprises of 430 litres space. The BMW 220d M Sport looks very athletic and alive. The full LED lights in front, the large kidney grille, the sculpted bonnet, the four frameless doors and a well-designed rear, give the car a very sporty and elegant appearance. It has a flowing roofline and prominent shoulders.
The kidney grille has vertically designed slats in satinized aluminium with grille frame in chrome high-gloss. The M Sport comes with 18-inch light-alloy wheels
It has ‘eyebrow’ turn-signal indicators. The upper section of the headlight housing has an aluminium look beneath the glass cover, while on the side is ‘BMW LED’ lettering. Like the headlights, the rear lights are full-LED as standard. They provide an all-new take on the familiar BMW ‘L’ shape with a single slim light element. Then you also have the turn signal repeater, brake light and taillight, reversing light and rear fog light. Not to miss are the chrome exhaust tailpipes with a diameter of 90mm. The car comes with a large panoramic glass roof. It has an electrically operated roller blind to provide shading.
