There are manufacturers who add new features, upgrades or just paint schemes mostly when they feel that a particular machine from their lineup has started to lose interest amongst buyers or is lagging behind its competition. Unfortunately, whether we like it or not, this is how the industry works — change only if needed, otherwise why bother? Thankfully, that hasn’t been the case with TVS. Unlike other brands that are far more conservative than what they used to be, TVS believes in constantly upgrading itself, thus setting a new benchmark every now and then. And I like that. With plenty of examples to support my statement, the latest one I can talk about is the Apache RR 310.
At its debut, the motorcycle had loads of features and equipment that were largely available only in premium brands. And in the four years to follow, TVS has not only improved the RR 310 extensively, but has been constantly upgrading with segment-first features that had us journos also raising eyebrows in amazement. The last time I rode the Apache RR 310, I absolutely fell in love with it. Four riding modes, different ABS settings as per the riding mode, grippy Michelin Road 5 tyres, and significant improvements to the powertrain all had put the RR 310 ahead of its competition by a huge leap. Despite all of that, TVS still wasn’t satisfied. Call it the repercussions of spending too much time on the track if you want to, but this time I have to say that TVS has outdone itself.
