JCB India has announced the appointment of Deepak Shetty as Deputy CEO and Managing Director of JCB India Limited. Having served as Executive Vice President Sales, Marketing, Product Support and Business Development, with the company for two years in India, and as the managing director of JCB’s Global Excavator business in the UK for four years, in the role of Deputy CEO and MD, he is expected to lead the company to grow amid a very dynamic market environment and in the wake of some highly unprecedented disruptions. Replacing Subir Kumar Chowdhury, who retired after working at JCB for 15 years, Shetty will take over the reigns of the company from early next year.
New ABB robotics facility
To facilitate digital transformation of the manufacturing sector in India, ABB India has opened a new robotics facility at its Nelamangala (Bangalore) factory premises. It is spread over 3,600 sq.m, and designed and developed to help ABB India deliver robotic applications and digital solutions for a variety of Indian industries. Apart from a modern shop floor, which could double the company’s capacity by running proof of concepts and factory acceptance tests for 1000 ABB robots every year, the new robotic facility also has a demonstration centre to showcase its latest technologies in robotic welding, glueing and material handling.
