We’ve watched in awe as he’s blitzed the field race after race, making passing moves that have been aggressive and chancey, but that he’s made stick somehow. We’ve seen him recovering from poor qualifying positions to run at the front, lead races, look like the winner he knows he can be. But we’ve also seen him throw away the podiums and wins with lurid crashes and through sheer bad luck. It gives me no pleasure to say it, but each weekend we waited for the seemingly inevitable failure to finish the race.
But then, in Catalunya, we were finally able to applaud our latest sporting hero as Darryn Binder rode the best race of his life, kept it rubber side down, and crossed the line to record his first Grand Prix win. I’m sure I wasn’t the only one watching, barely daring to look as he ran at the front of the field throughout the race, hoping madly that this would be his day.

WHAT NEXT FOR NORTON AND BSA?
