Price: ₹ 61.90 lakhs (ex-showroom India)
The Swedish automaker, Volvo, has revealed the mid-life makeover of the 2022 S90 at a price tag of Rs.61.90 lakhs (ex-showroom India) with only the top-spec B5 inscription variant available only in petrol mild hybrid option. We got our hands on it first and took it for a spin to the posh old Bombay streets, and here is what all wrapped up our minds.
Volvos have been understated, at least in our country, where everyone is obsessed with the German counterparts when it comes to premium luxury sedans, and Mercedes E-Class is definitely leading the pack in this segment.
With subtle changes carried out on the exterior and interior, the S90 has minor tweaks to accentuate its appeal to the Indian buyer further. On the outside new wheels, and chrome grille enhance the overall presence and sharper body lines that further underline the all-embracing silhouette. The S90 also gets a revised front fascia with re-sculpted bumpers, a ducktail spoiler, newly designed tail lights, and full LED light technology. A major miss is a panoramic sunroof. Instead, you get a singular sunroof unit.
The new benchmark is equipped with Android-based (Google-enabled) infotainment systems. The drivetrain consists of a 2-litre gasoline engine paired with a 48V mild-hybrid system mated to an automatic transmission, producing 250hp and 350Nm torque.
