Robert Llewellyn is a serial electric car addict and enthusiast. Perhaps best known as Kryten from BBC’s Red Dwarf or for presenting Scrap Heap Challenge for more than a decade, Robert is a talented actor, comedian, author and firm advocate of electric vehicles.
Until the day before I was due to set off on a 700-mile drive to Orkney, (an Island off the North Coast of Scotland) I was intending to use my own Tesla Model S 85. I love the car, it has amazing range, autopilot and is great for long journeys. Since I’ve had this car (about 2 and a half years) I haven’t been interested in any other. I love the Renault Zoe 40, the Hyundai IONIQ is brilliant, the 30 kWh Leaf is a big step in the right direction, but nothing comes close to my Model S. That is until I got a call from Tesla, “Robert, the 100D press car has arrived, d’you still want to use it?”
Do large Ursidae mammals defecate in dense tree growth? So I toddled off to Tesla HQ near Heathrow airport and picked up a brand new, just arrived off the boat Model S 100D.
