A house to be built for two brothers and their families on a plot area of 132 sq. metre. The initial idea was to build 2 duplexes one for each family. The clients brief was simple they needed their houses to be wanted their house to be contemporary.

The Contemporary Agenda

The house was planned as a stilt and four floors, two for each family with a common terrace garden. The building elevation has been designed in a staggered form with segregated balconies to break the linearity of the façade. IPE wood and Italian stone has been used on the façade giving it a very neat and contemporary look. Double height green wall at the front adds a soothing feel to the hard façade as well as merges the building with its surroundings.

Taking the advantage of a green belt in front of the plot, the master bedroom and drawing room have been placed in front to get the view of the greenery. Creating the duplexes on the plot size 25’-0” x 60’-0” the main emphasis was to bring in the maximum daylight into the space within utilizing front view of the green belt. The lower duplex has drawing, dining, kitchen and one bedroom on the ground floor and three bedrooms designed on the first floor, with master bedroom placed in the front.
