Patchwork coasters
1 Paint the surface of a CD with chalk paint and leave to dry. Apply a second coat, and sand the edges when dry. Attach a piece of thin paper over the hole in the middle, and pierce with a pin to mark the centre.
2 Die-cut Joanna Sheen Signature Dies Medium Patchwork Shapes from several different patterned papers. Arrange the shapes on the work surface to get a good balance of colour.
3 Attach the patchwork shapes onto the CD using PVA glue. Once dry, distress the edges with ink, and sponge some colour over the patchwork. Finish with a layer of matt varnish. Add a circle of cork to the back for a professional finish.
