The illustration world may be evolving but for creatives trying to get their foot in the door, competitions remain a great way to get noticed by those who matter. This summer, 100 new works will be exhibited at London Transport Museum on the theme of ‘Sounds of the City’, this year’s provocation for the Prize for Illustration, a co-venture between the Association of Illustrators (AOI), London Transport Museum (LTM) and Transport for
London (TfL) to unearth talent and engage with London’s illustrious illustration heritage. The images set to go on show on 19 May – selected from more than 2,000 entries – showcase the creative and diverse approaches to the brief by those keen to be part of this history, with big name talent, such as Paul Garland, Andy Potts and Butcher Billy, jostling shoulder to shoulder with illustrators fresh from college.
