CONCRETE IDEA

For its latest collection titled Toshi, Orange Tree looks back at the oeuvre of Japanese architect Tadao Ando, and his dexterous use of concrete. The collection-brimming with book shelves, sofa chairs, dining sets, benches, and coffee tables uses concrete in the unfamiliar context of home decor, and softens the austerity of the material with delicate inlay work and wooden and brass accents. SLEEP STYLE

The geometric volumes of the Nelson bed, designed by Andrea Lucatello for Cattelan Italia, are held in a light, elegant wooden frame with hidden front legs that makes the bed seem almost as if it's gently floating in air. The highlight of the design is the maxi headboard customizable in a wide colour palette of fabrics and leather-that can turn this bed into a focal point of any room. (cattelanitalia.com)

IN THE STARS

Designer Kish Dusharla, founder of Skaid Designs, has recently crafted a 20,000-square-foot gallery for Studio Orion, a one-stop home furnishing store in Hyderabad. With a room dedicated to wallpapers, an exclusive corner carved out for blinds, and an inviting lounge that makes space for client interactions, the design for Studio Orion is punctuated with rich textures and luxurious details.

ESSENTIAL LUXURIES

A permanent member of Indian households since 1986, Century Prowud has embraced path-breaking technologies to become a leading name in the industry. Their many ranges of chipping-free boards, that at once tackle volatile temperatures and humidity, can be carved and moulded in various shapes, making it the perfect canvas for your imagination.
