A Dog's Garden

Design a garden for the way your dog naturally behaves
Kelly Beamon

If he could talk, your dog might ask you to redesign your garden with him in mind. You’ve already switched to nontoxic, organic fertilisers and given him his tick and flea medicine. But what about picking a spot where he can dig some new holes? A pet-friendly garden should cater for your dog’s behaviour and habits in its layout, so maybe try these not-so-obvious ideas.

ENCOURAGE DIGGING

That’s right. Try the opposite approach of most dog owners and support this instinctive activity. Digging isn’t always a sign of boredom; it’s also a normal canine exercise – especially for digging breeds like Dachshunds and Terriers. Create a special area for this pastime, the same way you’d build a sandbox for your children.

She Broke the Bank

Luvleen Sidhu was just 28 when she founded BankMobile with a lofty mission: to reinvent banking for millions of Americans through the power of tech. The 2015 launch presciently anticipated the coming rise in mobile banking, and six years later the Radnor, Pennsylvania based business merged with a special purpose acquisition company (SPAC) in a transaction worth $150 million. That made Sidhu the youngest female founder and CEO ever to take a company public, and led her to even grander goals: Still at the helm of the company—now called BM Technologies—she says she wants to “create ripple effects and inspire other women.” Here’s why you should put your money on her to do just that.
