French environmentalists are celebrating a huge victory after the highest court in France blocked an attempt by President Macron’s government to allow hunters to kill thousands of endangered wild birds.
Eight new government decrees that had authorized a number of long-standing bird hunting practices have been suspended to the delight of the conservation group, Ligue pour la Protection des Oiseaux (LPO).
