Ban for woman who neglected dogs and chickens

A WOMAN has been banned from keeping animals for 10 years after pleading guilty to two welfare offences.

RSPCA officers found Christina Donkin, 66, from Troon, near Camborne, was keeping two dogs and nine chickens in unsuitable conditions, with the birds living alongside the dead bodies of others and the dogs suffering from various painful medical conditions.

Donkin cannot appeal against the ban for eight years, and Truro magistrates also fined her £100 for each of the two offences, and ordered her to pay £400 in costs and an £80 victim surcharge.
