NTT Launching New Submarine Cable Vessel

NTT World Engineering Marine Corp. is introducing a new submarine telecommunications cable laying vessel that is expected to strengthen the maintenance capabilities for submarine cables in the country's surrounding waters.
The vessel is primarily intended to be operated for the maintenance of domestic submarine telecommunications cables within the Philippines as well as international submarine telecommunications cables in nearby waters.
It will be manned by Filipino personnel, with both Filipino and Japanese engineers carrying out the operational tasks.
NTT-WE Marine, a company known for Japan's advanced technological capabilities, is the only provider that owns a fully equipped submarine telecommunications cable laying vessel registered under the Philippine flag.
