San Miguel Beer made sure June Mar Fajardo's milestone day would end with the team riding a commanding 3-1 lead against TNT.
With Jericho Cruz spearheading a 41-24 closing barrage, the Beermen overpowered the Tropang 5G, 105-91, to move one win away from the PBA Season 49 Philippine Cup crown last night.
Cruz set the MOA Arena's hoops on fire in the final 12 minutes, dropping 15 points spiked by three big-time triples that fuelled the Beermen's final breakaway on their way to their third straight win after dropping Game 1.
Clutch Cruz took the scoring cudgels with 23 as he and fellow off-the-bench player Don Trollano (11-6) helped lessen the load of Fajardo, who had a 15-12 double-double on the night he won the Best Player of the Conference award for a record-extending 12th time.
