Sebi proposes easier guidelines for capital raising

TO increase the participation of retail investors in public issues, and enhance the overall ease of doing business, the Sebi has proposed easier norms for capital raising by simplifying the draft IPO prospectus into summary form, along with easing the norms dealing with promoters’ locked in shares in IPO-bound companies.
In a consultation paper issued on Thursday, the Securities and Exchange Board has proposed a revamp of the existing regulations (Issue of capital and disclosure requirements (ICDR) regulations) issued in 2018, to enhance transparency, streamline the capital-raising process, and strengthen investor protection.
