Officials attributed performance to efforts led by the District Sanitation Mission
MUNICIPALITIES across Kollam district have made remarkable strides in the Swachh Survekshan 2024 - the world's largest cleanliness survey that scientifically evaluates sanitation and waste management practices.
Kollam Corporation secured an impressive 93rd position at the national level, placing it among the top 100 urban local bodies in the country. Paravur and Punalur municipalities followed at ranks 474 and 972, respectively, while Karunagappally (1,002) and Kottarakkara (1,048) were placed within the top 1,100.
