Man in court over death by dangerous driving after father and son are killed

A MAN has appeared at court in connection with a fatal collision that claimed the lives of a father and son in South Shields.

At around 8.55pm on Saturday, August 30, police received a report of a one-vehi-cle collision on John Reid Road, near to the New Mill Inn.
It was reported that a white Skoda Octavia car was travel-ling on the road when it came off the carriageway.
Peter Webb, aged 40, and his 12-year-old son, Ben Webb, who were both from South Shields, tragically died at the scene.
