A busy week with sadly some disappointment

It has been a busy week in Parliament as we get ready for the summer break.
I think most people are ready for it because apparently on average we have been sitting at least an hour extra every day since the election.
I am not asking for sympathy, but when we do quite long days anyway (last week the shortest day I did was 11 hours) then an extra hour adds up.
I lost a vote last week about trying to protect Employment rights for parents of very sick children. It was disappointing to say the least but the reality is if I had been able to get it through the Lords then I would not have got it through the House of Commons.
