Repair works on leaky boating lake completed

HISTORIC LEISURE SPOT BROUGHT BACK TO LIFE
WORKS to repair regular leaks have been completed at Redcar’s much-loved historic boating lake.
The 100-year-old lake, a cherished part of the town’s heritage and a favourite spot for generations of residents and visitors, has been brought back to life after years of problems.
A specialist contractor has been investigating why the structure in Coatham had been leaking water, and the complex repairs are now complete.
The investigations found significant cracking throughout the entire concrete basin slab, which required labour intensive repairs to be carried out by hand, covering over 2,800 metres.
