More than £4k handed out in fines to flytippers

TWO men have been given heavy fines in Middlesbrough for illegally dumping rubbish, including next to a council bin.
Penalties totalling more than £4,000 have been handed out for similar offences in recent weeks, with council chiefs pledging to continue the crackdown.
In the first case, Teesside Magistrates' Court heard how a report of fly-tipping in the alley behind the town's Roman Road was made by a member of the public last September.
Waste including wood, MDF and plastic and a large fridge freezer were caught on CCTV being dumped illegally by the tenant of a nearby flat, Mariwan Hamad.
