CAREFUL: MPUMALANGA TOURISTS URGED TO FOLLOW WARNING SIGNS
Tourists visiting Mpumalanga are urged to follow tour guides' instructions and regulations to prevent unnecessary injuries or deaths after the discovery of a corpse at a local waterfall.
The body of a man, believed to be in his late 40s, was found floating at the Berlin Waterfalls in Graskop, Mpumalanga.
Berlin is Mpumalanga's biggest waterfall situated near the world-renowned tourism sites Blyde River Canyon and God's Window.
Mpumalanga police spokesperson Lieutenant-Colonel Jabu Ndubane confirmed the incident and said an investigation was underway to establish the cause of death.
"A security guard was patrolling when he noticed a body floating in the waterfall. He promptly reported the matter to the police. The body was retrieved and emergency medical services confirmed the death."
"The victim was wearing black shorts and a white vest," Ndubane said.
He appealed to the public to assist in identifying the family of the man.
