Sharp Protest by Sarabjeet Singh Jhinjer Against Punjab Government Over Failure to Repair Ghaggar River Breaches Even After Several Months

Youth Akali Dal (Youth Wing) President from Ghanaur constituency, Sarabjeet Singh Jhinjer, raised the issue of the breaches in the Ghaggar River flowing through Ghanaur and expressed strong protest against the Punjab government.

He said that a few months ago, due to floods, large breaches had occurred in the Ghaggar River, because of which more than a dozen nearby villages suffered heavy human and financial losses. However, it is unfortunate that despite so much time having passed, the Punjab government has still not repaired these breaches. Sarabjeet Singh Jhinjer alleged that instead of ensuring the safety of the people, the Punjab government is busy filling its treasury through mining. He said that the government has started mining by issuing tenders, for which there is no transparent accounting, but no attention is being paid to the dangerous breaches in the river.
