'PH ready to lead ASEAN defense cooperation in 2026'

Department of National Defense (DND) Secretary Gilberto C. Teodoro Jr. said the Philippines is ready to take a more proactive role in strengthening regional defense cooperation as it prepares to assume the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) Defense Ministers' Meeting (ADMM) and ADMM-Plus chairship in 2026.
Teodoro made the statement as he joined defense chiefs from Southeast Asia and partner nations at the 19th ADMM and 12th ADMM-Plus in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia on Friday, Oct. 31.
