Premium prices slashed in bid to attract drivers

THE Trafford Centre has slashed the price of its first pay-for car park that launched last year, amid regular scenes of empty bays.

Shopping centre bosses opened Premium Parking in November, with 199 spaces in a barriered off section of the Upper Peel Five car park.

When the pay-for car park was first announced last year, it was billed as a new 'elevated experience' with new larger spaces befitting of luxury 4x4 style motors, as well as family cars.

Trafford Centre bosses hoped it would appeal to 'Premium Shoppers' keen to guarantee they could park right by one of the main entrances to the mall, next to designer department store Selfridges, as well as time-pressed families keen to bag a bigger space.
