Blues' appeal over Gana red thrown out

DAVID Moyes has confirmed that Everton appealed Idrissa Gueye's sending off against Manchester United. However, their attempts to overturn his three-match ban were rejected.

Gueye has been ruled out of the Blues’ matches against Newcastle United, Bournemouth and Nottingham Forest after he was shown a red card in the 1-0 win at Old Trafford for slapping teammate Michael Keane in the face.

And Moyes said: “We have appealed it, and our appeal was turned down.

“We haven't been given any reason why it was turned down, but we did appeal it immediately.”
