LIDL will officially open Ireland's first net zero energy supermarket today.

The outlet in Maynooth, Co Kildare, represents a new chapter in Irish retail, demonstrating how large-scale businesses can deliver on national climate commitments.
Climate Minister Darragh O'Brien will cut the ribbon on the store which will provide 32 jobs.
Designed in partnership with the Irish Green Building Council, Lidl Maynooth represents the pinnacle of smart engineering, with the new store being the first in Ireland to aim for BREEAM Outstanding standards.
