Jammu & Kashmir chief minister Omar Abdullah alleged on Monday that attempts were being made to give a "political colour" to the death of three civilians in Kathua district, and questioned the police for allowing Opposition leaders to visit the victims' families but preventing the deputy chief minister from doing the same.

The CM's comments come a day after lieutenant governor Manoj Sinha ordered a "thorough and transparent" investigation into the deaths, hours after Union minister Jitendra Singh alleged involvement of terrorists and a "deep conspiracy" into the matter.
