Nationalist Congress Party (SP) chief Sharad Pawar on Friday sought to downplay ally Shiv Sena (UBT) chief Uddhav Thackeray's recent remarks on his party looking to go solo in the upcoming local body polls in Maharashtra, saying he doesn't think the former chief minister will take any extreme stand.
PUNE: Nationalist Congress Party (SP) chief Sharad Pawar on Friday sought to downplay ally Shiv Sena (UBT) chief Uddhav Thackeray's recent remarks on his party looking to go solo in the upcoming local body polls in Maharashtra, saying he doesn't think the former chief minister will take any extreme stand.
The veteran leader, who was speaking to reporters in Kolhapur, also insisted that his close-door meeting with estranged nephew and deputy chief minister Ajit Pawar in Pune was for a sugar industry project and that the two leaders did not discuss any issues related to their respective parties.
