PLANS TO BUY 'SLIGHTLY BIGGER BUNGALOW' FOLLOWING WINDFALL

East Coast and The Wolds Target

A LINCOLNSHIRE couple's lives changed after picking up the phone on a Friday afternoon to be told by Gemma Atkinson they had won more than half-a-million pounds.

Andy and Kate Gordon were in their house last Friday (June 20) when they received a call at 5.15pm.

Andy, 70, had entered Greatest Hits Radio's Make Me A Winner competition, but said he “didn’t dare” believe he had just won a whopping £538,000 after being randomly selected.

The couple moved to Sutton-on-Sea, after living most of their lives in Lincoln, with dreams of idyllic walks along the beach each morning, but their new life was put on hold after a routine check-up identified a shadow on Kate's lung.

As Kate, 74, underwent treatment for cancer, the couple embraced the news when it was eventually revealed she was cancer free - but facing further treatment for related issues.
