Formerly with Nigel Twiston-Davies, the gelding looked a young horse of huge potential when running away with a Cheltenham novice hurdle.

However, I believe connections then made a mistake by pushing him in at the deep end and running him in the Grade One, three-mile novice hurdle at the Dublin Festival, when he blew out and was hammered by 37 lengths by Good Land.

It wasn14 races later that he won his next gold medal, a novice handicap chase at Doncaster which had very little strength in depth to it. Gradually finding his form thereafter, he was fifth in the Grimthorpe Chase and then put up an even better run when fourth at the Cheltenham Festival in the Kim Muir.
