FRANK REFLECTS ON AMAZING 12 MONTHS IN CHARGE OF SKY BLUES

- By ANDY TURNER Sky Blues Reporter

COVENTRY City have come a long way in the last 12 months - rising up from 17th place to ten points clear at the top of the Championship.

Frank Lampard took over on this day, exactly a year ago on November 28, 2024, driving the squad up the division to the playoffs in his first six months in charge of the Sky Blues.

He's then taken the team to a different level as the club’s trajectory continues to soar to new heights, both on and off the field.

Here City’s head coach reflects on his first year at the CBS Arena.

How do you look back at the last 12 months?

“lve had a good time, enjoyed working at a club. It feels like a lot's happened ina year and it has, I guess, but I feel very proud to be able to work here, and I'm enjoying it. Sometimes when things are going as they have been going, you have to try and enjoy it because it’s not always the case.

“This job is such a challenge but I have found a place with really good people, great fans, great history and I think we've all had a pretty decent time.”

What are some of the moments that stand out for you?

“I suppose there are lots of general moments about working with a group of players who when we came in were struggling a bit There was a lack of confidence and those things. So it was trying to turn that around and I think the second half of last season was great for building this spirit and watching the team start to improve with the work.

“And obviously it was a disappointment to miss out (in the playoffs) but there were some really good signs and then we've been able to keep a lot of the good things over the summer, in terms of keeping our players and having a preseason to work, which always helps because when you come in mid-season it’s tough.

“And we've had some good results along the way. Not everything has been great and we can improve a lot, but yeah I’ve enjoyed it so far.”
